FCC Adopts New Rules to Expand Text-to-911 Availability

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted new rules requiring text messaging providers to allow Americans to send a text to 911 to get help during an emergency. The rules ensure that all wireless carriers and text application providers are prepared to support text-to-911 by the end of 2014.
